SLP Scribe with Zoom

Settings

Enabling the settings on your Zoom account

  1. Log in to the Zoom Web interface by going to http://www.zoom.us/signin
  2. Navigate to Settings > Meeting > In Meeting (Advanced)
  3. Scroll down to Automated captions
    • Click the toggle button to the right, from grey to blue
  4. A new message box displays, click the blue Enable button
    • This action enables closed captioning/live transcription
  5. Click the Full transcript toggle button to the right, from grey to blue
    • This action enables viewing of full transcript in the in-meeting side panel
  6. Click the Save Captions toggle button to the right, from grey to blue
    • This action enables the saving functionality for both the host and participants (without having to record the session)

Starting

Enabling within Zoom Meeting using the Zoom Desktop application

1. Click the Show Captions button at the bottom of your Zoom meeting window

  • This action enables in-meeting captioning

2. Click the upward arrow character and select Full Transcript

  • This action enables the full transcript in the in-meeting side panel

Note: To disable auto-transcription, click the Hide Captions button

Saving the transcripts to your computer as a text file

1. When you are finished with your meeting, click the Save Transcripts button at the bottom right of your Zoom meeting window

2. Then click the Show In Folder button to open the folder with the transcript

3. Finally, just copy and paste the information in the text file into the Speech Therapy Copilot 'Message' box, fill in any other information you want, and click Generate Document

Changing the location of your saved transcripts

1. If you prefer to save your transcripts to a different location on your computer, click the up arrow next to the Captions button at the bottom of your Zoom meeting window

2. Then click the Transcripts Settings button to open the settings

3. Choose Recording on the left hand panel, then click Change under Local Recordings

4. Choose the folder location you prefer
